An Interconnected Global Digital Economy

The global digital economy is growing through business and technology at a rapid rate to encompass more online services and marketplaces. 74% of ecommerce will be non-western by 2023 and 57% of online buyers are already making cross border payments today. 72% of consumers are interested in a Super App–one place to access multiple services with the customer’s convenience and security in mind.

What is a Super App?

A Super App is a mobile or web application that provides multiple services including payments or financial services to encompass a more self-contained commerce and communication platform that covers many aspects of personal and/or business life. You can accept payments with Rapyd Collect, build an ecosystem with Rapyd Wallets or set up a “bill pay” with Rapyd Disburse. Imagine what you can build out to connect people and businesses together. How would you make it easy for people to send money to friends or family? What industries would you choose? How would you connect businesses or services together?

Rapyd Collect allows you to accept local payment methods into your Rapyd account or into any Rapyd Wallet. You can create a Hosted Checkout Page to direct your customers to, embed the checkout page, or directly integrate with the API.

Rapyd Disburse can help you make payouts to over 100+ countries with a broad set of payout methods such as bank transfers, eWallets, cards, and cash. Reach your audience and pay workers, suppliers, or any business anywhere in the world.

Rapyd’s Wallet API enables clients to set up business or personal customers to accept, hold and disburse funds with local payment methods. You can transfer funds between wallet contacts from one wallet to another on Rapyd’s Wallet platform. Rapyd Wallet is similar to a bank account. The difference is that you can easily move money into and out of your account using different currencies and payment methods.

The Mission: Make Your App a Super App

Create a Super App, build on your own existing app, or create another powerful feature with the functionality of a Super App.

Use Case Thought Starters

a) Build a Super App from the ground up to customize your platform the way customers want to connect with one another, with businesses, or services all around the world. Traverse across multiple industries and connect different platforms to create your dream Super App.

b) Build "Super" capbailities into your own existing app with Rapyd’s APIs. Utilize any of the Rapyd platforms (Collect, Wallet, Disburse, Issuing, Protect) to improve on your project. For example, add local payment or payout methods, cross border payments, split or group payments.

c) Build out a powerful feature of a Super App that can be integrated into another project. Pair functionality of your project with convenience, and security for a potential Super App. Complete a disbursement feature within to pay your friends or auto-pay bills. Help build a digital platform connecting people in real estate, healthcare, automotive, or government.

To build your SuperApp you need to:

  • Use Rapyd’s Collect, Disburse, or Wallet API

  • Accept multiple local bank payments in customer’s local currency

  • Show how the transaction can easily be reconciled in your application

Bonus Objectives

  • Demonstrate a clever and frictionless way to do a refund of a Rapyd Wallet transaction

  • A great UX that would make anyone sign up over other peer-to-peer apps
